Transport in the baggage area

Due to insufficient ventilation and heating, the transportation of pets in the baggage area is not offered on Olympic Air Flights.

Transport in the cabin

Only cats and dogs are allowed to travel within the passenger cabin* (restrictions apply on the total number of pets that can be carried on each flight*).

Terms & Conditions of Pet Transportation:

• To be healthy and their owners to provide at the check-in counter the pets' health booklet where it will be confirmed that the pet has had all necessary vaccinations and that it bears a microchip. 
• All pets should be transported in containers/cages  measuring not more than 40 x 25 x 25 cm and the total weight along with the container should not exceed 8 kilos.
• To remain in the cage throughout the entire flight. The cage must be safely locked and placed on the floor, there must be no risk of leaks and the pet must wear a muzzle.
• The pet must be clean (all pets are checked in order to be accepted in the cabin), quiet and not upset other passengers during the flight.
• In case of travelling abroad the pet must have a passport.

If you wish to transfer your pet you must contact the Reservations Department, (+30 210 35 50 500 or 801 801 01 01 from 08.00 to 20.00), at least 48 hours before departure, in order to register the pet and (if possible) to confirm its carriage, as the number of pets allowed on each flight is limited.

Pricing

On domestic flights the total charge for carrying a pet is 4€ while on international flights each kilo is charged at 1.5% of the official IATA fare.

Acceptance of Guide dogs in the Cabin of the aircraft

A trained guide dog for the assistance of the blind is allowed to be carried in the passenger's cabin. The condition applies only if the animal accompanies a person who is depending upon it for assistance due to health reasons. The passenger must hold a certificate that satisfies the ‘guide dog ‘condition. The animal's book and appropriate veterinary documents shall be updated according to International regulations.

The dog must be properly harnessed, restrained.

The service is provided free of charge.

*The passenger must be allocated in a seat area where sufficient floor space for the animal exists. Whenever this is not possible- depending on the operating aircraft type- then the option of blocking an extra seat (free of charge) shall be considered. The suggested seat for those passengers would be by the window, excluding emergency exits.

*Microchip:
In case of travelling abroad the pet must have passport and ID microchip.
For flights within Greece microchip is not a mandatory element.
