Olympic Air’s Business on Board and Hilton Honors programs collaboration


On February 9th, 2011 Olympic Air hosted a reception to honor all members of its new corporate loyalty program “Business on Board”, at the Hilton Hotel in Athens. All the unique competitive advantages of the program were presented along with the announcement of the new major partnership of Travelair Club with the HHonors (Hilton Honors) loyalty program.

“Business on Board” is OA’s corporate program that rewards companies that choose Olympic Air as their carrier, while at the same time offering passengers the benefits of Travelair Club (double dipping)..

Mr. George Efstratiadis, Deputy CEO of Olympic Air & General Manager of MIG, stated:
"Marfin Investment Group is especially proud of its investment because we were able to deliver what we promised in our advertising campaign: Greece, flying high,, especially at a time when our country is encountering negative publicity, due to the economic turndown brought about by acts or omissions of government officials.

The launch of the company, only 6 months after the acquisition agreement, was a challenging task to be achieved in a very short time and is considered a truly extraordinary achievement in the aviation business. But thanks to the perseverance and dedication of our staff it has been succesfully achieved; congratulations are in order to everyone who participated in this effort.

In the 16 months after our launch we have managed: To carry more than 4,440,000 passengers in 2010. To have operations in 41 airports, including 30 domestic 11 international. To be the largest carrier operator in Greece based on sales through travel agents by enhancing our relationship with the healthiest part of the market promoting tourism development in Greece.

To have the highest on-time performance rating among airlines operating at the Athens International Airport. But above all we managed to restore faith in the Olympic brand name . This is evident by the hundreds of letters of ‘thanks’ we receive daily from satisfied passengers and assign us with greater responsibility to provide more and more upgraded services. Our success was based on three principles: young fleet, excellent customer service before and during the flight and excellent on-time performance.

As a culmination of our efforts we were rewarded by the European Regional Airlines association (ERA), with the silver “Airline of the Year 2010-2011” award Today we are pleased to present our corporate program “Business on Board”. This is the first sub-brand of the Travelair Club; soon, we will announce two new sub-programs that will reward frequent passengers of Olympic Air.

This program is unique in the Greek market. It commenced in June 2010 and in 6 months has reached over 2500 registered member companies, demonstrating the extraordinary impact it has on the tourism market. We expect to reach over 7000 registered companies in Greece and abroad until the end of 2011.

Finally I would like, on the occasion of today's event, to announce the partnership between Olympic Air and Hilton Honors. Working with a global mega-brand like Hilton is a great honor for our company.
Through this partnership,Olympic Air’s travelair club passengers - members  have access to 3600 Hilton hotels around the world.
