Olympic Air #1 in Punctuality, wins “Airline Reliability Performance” Award
Olympic Air is the most reliable airline out of the average of all carriers operating at Athens “Eleftherios Venizelos” airport for the last 20 months (October 2010 - May 2011), according to reports and statistics issued by AIA (Athens International Airport).
The airline scored top level in the areas of on-time performance, leading all carriers with 95 percent of its flights arriving on time, thus exceeding the industry average by several percentage points out of its 5,000 total flights (170 flights a day) on average each month.
Olympic Air, already a member of IATA’s IOSA, also has an excellent record concerning consumer complaint (less than 1%) according to its in-flight questionnaires, while it carries an average 45% of total passengers in Greek domestic destinations.
Olympic Air has also recently won the 2011 Annual Airline Reliability Performance Award from Bombardier Aerospace, for achieving the highest overall dispatch reliability and stood first in the overall Q-400 product category for the European region. Bombardier’s Airline Reliability Performance Awards are presented each year to operators of Q-400 series aircraft in recognition of outstanding dispatch reliability. Each winner must succeed in delivering an average dispatch reliability rate of 99 percent (or better) on revenue passenger flight and the highest dispatch reliability performance in their respective product class and region.
Olympic Air’s Executive President Mr. John Karakadas commented: “Such recognition for our on-time performance record is an achievement of which we are all extremely proud. Olympic Air has committed itself in providing the best service for its passengers. And we have taken this commitment very seriously. An airline’s record for departing and arriving is of course one of the main considerations for travellers when deciding to which airline they will take their business. And we, at Olympic, plan to excel in every aspect of customer satisfaction”.
