Enjoy relaxing walks along the harbour of Kastelorizo, where you’ll find a few bars, quaint cafes and traditional bakeries, as well as restaurants staying open until late at night. Be prepared to adore the island’s traditional cuisine. Try the chickpea pie, giouvarlakia (meatballs in sauce) and the breadcrumb stuffed goat’s meat. For dessert, try the spoon halva, the fig spoon sweet, baklava and “katoumaria”, delicate thin pies sprinkled with sugar and clove. Kastelorizo is an ideal place for those who love fresh fish and seafood.
Its most famous tavernas are “Platania” where you can sample many traditional dishes, as well as “Lazaraki”. Other good choices are the “Agora”, the “Akrothalassi” and “Mikro Parisi”.
