Milos is famous all over the world for two reasons: First one is the Venus of Milo, a copy of which can be seen in the archaeological museum, with the original at the Louvre museum in Paris. The second reason, is the island’s dreamy beaches and small romantic bays. Some, hidden in caves and bizarre rock complexes, others with golden sand and aquamarine waters, unrealistic looking landscapes, guaranteed to leave you speechless. The island’s beaches are an important –but certainly not the only- incentive to visit Milos.
From ancient times, Milos’ rich mineral wealth has propelled the local economy. During your excursions throughout the island you will come across dozens of quarries and mines.
