It is common knowledge that Mykonians know how to have fun, the evidence being the approximately 80 feasts and celebrations taking place on the island throughout the year! If you happen to attend any of those, you will certainly be offered traditional festival food (meat boiled with potatoes) and plenty of wine. The biggest festival is held in mid-August, in Ano Mera, at the Monastery of Panagia Tourliani while feasts or traditional celebrations take place in late September. Be sure to partake in the Fishermen’s feast, on June 29th, as well as in “choirosfagia” (sausage making), in autumn.
