Preveza is famous for its seafood, which you can enjoy in the picturesque tavernas and restaurants that adorn the narrow lanes of the Old Town and the pedestrian area of the pier. The place of honour on the menu of fish delicacies goes to the “papalina” baked sardines, “gambari” shrimp (grilled on coal or saganaki style), and “petali” mullet and anchovies (marinated or baked), served with local tsipouro. The local specialities also include bream with celery, cod with plums, baked sea bream with garlic dip and Preveza olive oil pie. If you are in town on Palm Sunday or Annunciation day, you must try the famous "savoro" (a dish with “menides” fish, garlic, herbs and black raisins) and the “afalos” dessert and watermelon spoon sweet.

Beautiful period coffee houses, atmospheric art cafés and trendy bars offer the visitor many options. The evening stroll through the haunts of the pedestrianized pier with a view of the sail boats and luxury yachts is unforgettable. In the summer, the action moves to the beach clubs of the nearby Kyani Akti and Kanali beaches, for hard-core clubbing until the early hours.
